Where Exactly does A Man's Zinc Come From?
Article By Mark Timon, M.S. Clinical Nutrition 03 March 2010
Filed under: production process, soy, zinc
I was recently contacted by a customer concerned about the zinc in our products being derived from soy and thought it would be beneficial to clarify some things about the nature of the zinc we use.

The phytosterols are solely obtained from soy. However, in taking A Man’s Zinc you are not getting any “soy” in the product. By this I mean that there are none of the anti-nutrients common to soy (i.e. trypsin and chymotrypsin inhibitors, phytates, phytoestrogens, blood clotting factors, etc.) in the product. What are included are pure fatty alcohols, the plant sterols, that are famous for blocking absorption of cholesterol from the gut. Research stretching back to 1951 has consistently demonstrated the biochemically benign nature of soy phytosterols.
